Why? Why not?
Vot: Why I would worry about if they count their time sheet time wrong, they already spread teh wrong gospel! Time shet thing is very silly concept, but that is why I do not do it Adnohr: How it is so hard for some of you to just answer the question instead of whine about the question. You know, you can just skip it if you feel it is a waste of time! I am not rquired to have any kind of time sheet. But my Lord Jesus who is God knows how I spend my time |

If you mean that how long it takes to get from one door to the next, yeah. When they meet for service (door to door preaching) they start their time. when they get online is when they start their time. when they have a conversation with someone it starts their time.
to move up in the ranks in the congregation they have to have so much time and be consistant with that time. So many of them will count every bit of time they can. |

When I was a JW you could report travel time if you were going between calls. However if you had to drive 30 mins to your first call you could not start you time till you got there.. some witnesses are very smart and would stop at a laundry mat to leave some magazines or hit a home that no one answered the door the last time they were there...then they could in good conscious start their time before they had to travel......
However I have been with some witnesses that carried a stop watch and only counted the minutes they were at a door...always took them longer to get their time in |

Our time doesn't start until we are at our first door (but we also do businesses, parking lots anywhere people are just as Jesus Christ did). As we go from one house to another, yes the time is counted. Why? Because we're out to preach the good news not go for a drive or leisurely stroll. We do not count our time when we are on breaks, lunch etc. I'm a little confused as to why people care since those same people don't want to hear the good news.
And no, we do not count our time online. I think people reason that if they say it enough times it has to be true.... |

Hmmm... so unfair!!!
Some Witnesses in Vot's congregation start counting and then they take 2 hours to travel to their first door!!! ='(( Vot counts starting from her own room (Bible study with roommate) and walks down the corridor to visit the other students (2 seconds walk between doors) NO FAIR!!! NO FAIR!!! I know!!! Vot will first go downstairs, then walk to the far end of the corridor, then up the stairs again, then knock on one door, talk a while, then go upstairs, walk to the end of the corridor, then downstairs, then knock on the door next to the one I just knocked at last and so on all evening. That would get me a least 7 hours in, no? What a waste of time that would be!!! ANSWER: Time is counted from first conversation to the last, minus breaks, including travelling time. Jehovah's Witnesses are honest, and do not report more time than they actually should in their reports, don't worry. |

When I was a JW your time started when you were at the first door.
So people would stop and call on an interested person close to the place we met for service so they could count the travel time. When I was in LA, there was really no travel time, but in rural areas you may travel an hour each way to the assigned territory. |

Vot: I need to talk to you about a bridge. I have it on good authority that I can get it at a great price. Was it P.T. Barnum or was it W.C. Fields that stated that there was a sucker born every minute..
How much time do you have to put in door to door to get to heaven? I would really like to know... |
