making money through photography/travel writing?

I am a really artistic sort of guy and its about time to get a job and I wanna be a photographer or travel writer or both.I am more than willing to travel where other people dont normally go.Places that are not tourist oriented and places that are.I love to travel,I have a good eye for photography and a good head for writing.So is there a way to make money as one or even better as both?If so who would i need to go to to get a job or to look at my photos or read my writing?Any help you can give me would be appreciated.

Have you tried looking into working for the National Geographic or similar companies? That would be a good way to work and you can also travel.
