What are some examples of travel literature for a college English class?

I am teaching a college freshman composition course, an introduction to literature, and I am looking for a new theme so as to keep me interested (and the students, too, of course!). Past courses have been "The Other American Writers" (a look at marginalized writers) and "Colonial Literature." I am entertaining the idea of literature (novels, plays, and poetry) that deal with travel and some kind of self-discovery. I realize that "On the Road" and "Huckleberry Finn" are choices, but I would like some other suggestions since I am drawing a blank right now.

The Divine Comedy
Iliad/Odyssey

Novels: Travels with Charley in Search of America (Steinbeck); Heart of Darkness (Conrad); Don Quixote (Cervantes). The Motorcycle Diaries might be interesting. A Bag Full of Marbles and Briar Rose are both excellent journey-type books dealing with WWII, but they're not really classics.

Plays: could make a case for Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead. mostly I just really like that play, though.

Poems: "Ulysses" and/or "The Lotus Eaters" (Tennyson); "Stanzas from the Grande Chartreuse" (Arnold); "The Road and the End" (Sandburg); "Song of the Open Road" (Whitman); "Ithaka" (don't remember who it was by); Rime of the Ancient Mariner (Coleridge).

To tell you the truth, I don't play much sport nor do I walk much because I drive my car everywhere, even to my office, which is near my home although I sometimes play table tennis, which I'm quite good at.
