Travelling by plane and necessary ID?

obviously i need a picture ID. im not travelling out of the country. Will just a student ID with my picture and name on it work, or what?

i have a permit, but its been expired for a while.

A current student I.D. is acceptable. It would really be wise to get a state I.D. card...esp. if you are over 18. Airlines do accept "alternative" I.D. CALL your airline and ask for sure what THEY will accept.

Get a state issued I.D. You can go to the DMV and actually get a non-driver's license. It's more official. Usually they want something with an address and birthdate and college id's are easily duplicated.
