I am going travelling and planning to go to thailand in August/Sept - whats it like that time of year?

I've heard the weather isn't very good, does it make it less enjoyable than it would at another time of year?!

uhmm actually it will be still rainy season that time. You may get difficulty to travel or cannot enjoy beach time. However, most of things in Thailand are still beautiful even on raining day. So, it depends on what you wanna do and where you wanna go. If you wanna go shopping in a deparment store, then it would be ok, but if you wanna go to beach then it will be a bit troublesome. If you are a first time visitor I'd rather say don't come IF you want to see the Postcard Islands they won't look the same when it's raining. But one thing for sure: it's always warm and the fun is there...

Unless you come during Nov-Jan (the high season), the weather in Thailand is HOT and HUMID. The time your talking about is the rainy season, but remember, it's not cold so I don't really think it makes it that much less enjoyable.
Basically it might rain cats and dogs for a couple hours and then just stop. You sort of learn to just duck out of it and head out again once it stops.
So, even though it's the rainy season you'll still get plenty of sunshine and warm weather. Plus it's low season so things are a bit cheaper and there aren't as many travelers to contend with.

i always go to bangkok during Aug its a bit rainy but there is plenty of sun so it will not ruin your trip dont worry

In Thailand, August-September is the rainy season! Yeah, if you go to the beaches you might not really enjoy it because of the rain but it also depends too.

I went to Thailand last year in July, it was rainy. My dad lives there and recommends going December-March, because its really sunny and hot then.
