I think the best way to find out is to call or go to the Immigration Department and ask them if your name is clear, or if there is a travel ban. It will take them 10 seconds to look it up on their computer and they'll tell u.
They have no interest in the case against you, but they will tell you your travel status. |

The law in the UAE states that cheques that have already been written can only be cancelled if the cheque is lost or stolen - or if the writer of the cheque is officially declared bankrupt.
According to the law, in the event that a cheque bounces, the holder of cheque can report the matter to the police who will then arrest the writer of the cheque and give them an opportunity to pay the money back. If the payment is not made then the case is referred to the Criminal Court where in most cases the perpetrator is sentenced to jail. Please read more in the link giving below: http://www.arabianbusiness.com/12374?start=0 1. Try to find an amicable solution to solve the problem 2. Ask Sharjah Police for the file number and if necessary have a lawyer involved. The consequences you might have to face will depend on the amount of the bounced cheque and if you will be willing and able to settle this matter. Depending the amount of the bounced cheque there of course will be a travel ban. But - I do not know the amount. Take care. |
