I would be great to get to heaven and be able to time travel. It would not be great to get to go into a future were the world ends, like you wanted it too. What if the future is only what you wanted it to be when you were alive. And when you were alive you wanted it to end. Your eternal life would be spent reliving a very short time.

Most of us can not imagine what the world will be like if we are not in it. I think your question arises from that desire to see what is going on after you leave. The world went on just fine without me before I was born. I am sure that it will do so after I am gone. If you are popping in from time to time after you are dead then you are a ghost. Only thing I can imagine. I don't think I want to be one of those. It doesn't sound like a whole lot of fun.
