I'm looking for a book about a girl who travels back in time to the 1800s or earlier.Epilepsy was involved.

I read this book in the mid-80's about a girl who travels back in time to either the 1800's or earlier. I think there was some romance involved and the setting was somewhere near the water. I'm pretty sure she was epileptic. I would appreciate it if someone remembered the title! Thanks!
