I would suggest asking friends to join you, then if none are available, ask them if they are aware of anyone who might be interested. I would be apprehensive about traveling with a complete stranger

Driving cross country is a long haul of a trip. You'll need someone you feel comfortable sitting in a car or bus with for a long time. Body odor and tastes in music included otherwise it'll be a trip from hell.

Get relatives, friends or close buddies, people you can trust and have a good time with. You could try asking fellow church members or folks you trust at work if they are interested.
