how far did the animals travel in the incredible journey (easy 10 points!)?

its by sheila burnford and i need to know specifically

we (my english class) had to write a report about the incredible journey

then we had to hand it in and the teacher was going to make corrections and hand it back for us to fix and then hand in another as a final copy

one of the details i had wrong was how far the animals traveled

i put 300 miles and she said that the book gave a specific amount
