Default I'm traveling to Marrakesh with my sister-in-law, we will be staying with her family. She says that I don't

have to bring a gift for her family but I feel I should bring something to say thank you, as they will be basically taking care of us the whole time! We will be staying with her sister some nights and her brother some nights. They both have children. Does anyone know what would be an appropriate gift?
She said to bring candy for the children but I would like to bring something for her brother and sister as well.

Morrocans are very big on gifts. They say you don't need to give anything but then they give and give, lol. Last time I went I brought t-shirts with "Canada" on it. I also brought some of the traditional native arts of Canada and everybody loved it. Maybe you can look in you local gift shops and find something they will find exotic.

Candy for the kids AND the adults is a great idea. I brought Hershey's kisses and Reese's Peanut Butter Cups with me and everyone loved them. Maple Syrup is loved by everyone as well. I also took bath & Body Works items, some clothes, some hand made jewelry and toys like Matchbox Cars.

You must be indulgent with gifts. Definately go more expensive than candy. Good toys don't exist in Morocco except at high prices. Some luxury items for ladies, perfume (doesn't have to be designer), creams, gloves. Don't get stuff that they have to be able to read the labels to know what they are. If you get shampoo, showergel and body lotion it will be hard for them to know which is which. If you are travelling from the US you have plenty of luggage allowance. I would aim to spend approximately the amount you think it will cost to feed you for the duration of your stay.

Have a great time. P.S. For yourself you'll need some toilet paper as they usually don't have any in homes or public restrooms!

Honestly the woman love Clinique make up/ skin care.

My husband is Morocan and when we visit we bring Clinique, CASH, Pictures, SILVER Jewelry ( better to be purchased there) Silver is extremely CHEAp in that country. Toys for the Children.. Clothes for the Children. Kiss them as soon as you arrive. Eat and drink tea even if you are full.

have fun it is so awsome there, bring a empty suit case with you
