Default I lost my wallet and it had my green card!!:( I need to travel(emergency)so is it possible to get a temp card?

I was still hoping to find my wallet but it looks like it's been stolen or lost. My mom's in Zimbabwe and she just bought my ticket for May 27. I have to go, it's an emergency!!!
How long does it usually take to get a replacement green card?
And do they issue some kind of temporary card or stamp in your passport that makes it possible to travel abroad?
Please let me know ASAP! thanks:)

Call the USCIS IMMEDIATELY when they open up tomorrow. They should be able to help you.

Best of luck to you, and I hope you find your wallet!

p.s. Please DO NOT listen to the idiot who told you it was unnecessary to carry your green card at all times. If you were to ever be caught without it, you could be removed from the United States.

what were you doing with your green card in your wallet? they say you need to carry it with you at all times but it's not really necessary.

Hi, Dont freak out too much.
You have to call the uscis asap to report your card lost/stolen. You wont get a replacement card before you need to travel so you would have to make an appointment at your closest immigration office ( probably the one you had your green card interview at) and they can give you a stamp in your passport to connfirm you are a LPR. When you are on the telephone reporting your card lost, ask them for the number of your nearest office. It'll be ok......:)
