If the script has been made into a movie, then you'll have a hell of a time getting the rights for it to be performed. Lately even plays that have been turned into movies have been more and more expensive. Sister hood is based on a book right..hmm... So what you could do is pick up the novel, and create text straight out of the book. This would kinda help you getting around the "paying for rights, and loosing all our money cause its a film not a play..." thing. Although, you could take the dangerous road, and just find a copy of the script...which a good copy from a movie would be really hard to find. The link to the one I found is ... hacked and slashed from what I can tell...
Long story short... the rights are owned by a big company, and the writer doesn't appear to have theatre royalties under their umbrella...so it would cost a good chunk to perform...
(don't ask don't tell... to a 'staged reading')
