The oxygen molecule travels down the nostrils, past the pharynx, larynx, trachea, bronchi and bronchioles into tthe alveoli. From there, it diffuses through the alveolar epithelial cells, throught the basement membrane beneath it and through the capillary epithelial cells into the plasma of the blood. From there, it diffuses through the red cell membrane and into the RBC where it will find a hemoglobon molecule to hop onto.
