It probably depends on the airline. I've heard of children as young as 4 weeks traveling internationally -- and heard they generally do well -- mostly sleeping and feeding. The airline you choose will also impact it. Some have a reputation for being very good with babies/young children -- other may not be so accomodating.

i took my baby to see her grandparents when she was four weeks old.
our airline gave us the front row so we had a little extra room for her and hostesses were very helpful. it was only about seven hours with a layover in chicago. she slept through most of it. gave her bottle on taking off to help with her ears. good luck. |

Speaking from experience I would not take a baby on a plane ...unless I really had to. We were stationed in Italy and I had to fly back to the states with my daughter....it's not only hard on the baby ..but if you have a real fussy baby it's hard on the other passengers as well. You babies ears will pop, hich causes them to cry alto, if you have to change a baby on the plane and it's hard to do in the tiny bathroom...you have to do it in your seat.....lol....
Just call the airline that you will be flying with and ask what's the yongest age a child can fly. Pay for a plane seat for you baby...take the car seat so the baby can sit in her/his on seat....it will make things alot easier for you. |
