Is the travel agency business becoming a thing of the past b/c many people plan their trips online?

How much do travel agents make per year? I am thinking about this career.

Yes its becoming a thing of the past!! I actually dont plan trips online, its more expensive 90% of the time anyway....I do the research myself and I get what I want, at the price Im willing to pay.. DONT GO INTO THE TRAVEL BUSINESS!! Especially in this day and age, people cant afford to go on trips nowadays...

What is a travel agency business? Is that when your grandparents go to an office and talk to a person and they look at flights and stuff for them? Do the agents use travelocity like everyone else?
