Can You Travel To Cuba By Means Of Another Party?
I know that the rules of US citizens going to Cuba are restricted. I was wondering if you could travel there by means of a second party... such as going to Mexico or one of the Virgin Islands and then from there take a plane into Cuba. Is that allowed? |

Allowed? No.
Frequently done with no apparent consequences? Yes, though you might want to think twice about it in the current fear-based political and security climate, since it would be unfortunate to be denied a job because you fail a security background check for choosing to vacation on one island rather than another (and there are many others!). |

US citizens need permission to go to Cuba. That said - sure you can go to Central America and get to Cuba that way.
Once they stamp your passport in Cuba - be prepared to defend yourself when you come back into the States. Rest assured the CBP officer will see the stamp and you will not be allowed to leave the Customs area until you answered all the 1000 questions you're going to get. I'd look into this a lot closer before I made any decision to circumvent the law. |
