Keep you pup empty of food and water for at least three hours before hand. Start with nothing more than a trip around the block. Do this for a week. If your pup was able to tolerate that without a problem, on week two, try two blocks. Week three, three blocks, and so on. If, however, your pup cannot tolerate even the short trips, your dog may actually have motion sickness and need to be medicated. Usually this can be eased with dramamine, but you must consult your vet for the correct dosage for your dog. Best of luck

Every time that I have told my friends about this remedy they laugh, however when in desperation they try this, it always works.
This is safe and it won't make your dog drowsy. Beat the white of an egg with a teaspoon of glucose powder and two teaspoons of cooled boiled water. Give this to your dog about twenty minutes before you travel. Do this for the next few journeys and THIS WILL CURE THE DOGS OF TRAVEL SICKNESS. Also try to get him to like the car by driving him to a fenced area and let him run free. You could also try feeding him in the car if this is practical. By doing this he will become accustomed to getting into the car on a regular basis. |

You can get medicine to give the dog before you go on a car ride.
You can't use this daily, though. It also makes the dog a bit drowzy.... I've heard puppies grow out of this at around 8 months old. Not sure though. My Border Collie puppy was sick everytime he got in a car. From him being 8 weeks old. But he stopped being sick at 3 months old. I suggest you give him a ginger biscuit half an hour before the car ride. It worked for my puppy. |
