I'll travel from London to South France this Dec, which train the quickest? best place of S.Fr in winter?

I have no idea which part of South France to visit during December, please give me some suggestions.

London to Montpellier is now about 6 hrs.

Cote d'Azur and Corsica are the warmest winter places in France.

As a second choice, Languedoc is almost as warm, and is cheaper. From Languedoc, you can cross the Pyrenees to Costa Brava, and that area is warmer than Cote d'Azur in winter.
