Default An express train travels 80 kilometers per hour...?

from Ironton to Wildwood. A local train, traveling at 48 kilometers per hour, takes 2 hours longer for the same trip. How far apart are Ironton and Wildwood?

this is how far along I am:

t = time
D = distance

80t + 48 (t + 2) = D

80t + 48t + 96 = D

128t + 96 = D

stuck after that.....

80t= 48(t+2)
80t= 48t+96
(80-48)t=96
t= 3

Distance = 3*80 = 240 km

Let DE = distance of express train, DL = distance of local train.

DE = 80t
DL = 48(t+2)

You know the two travel the same distance, so

DE = DL
80t = 48t + 96
t = 3

So, the distance each train travels is 240 km.
