*****Definitely a car!.. I know this from a lot of experience, taking both back and forth across the U.S... Amtrak trains can only go a max. of 62 m.p.h... (they have regulators on them to make certain). The train has to come to a crawl through most of the towns it passes threw, and stop at every train Depot. Each stop is at least 6 hours or more. The more miles you travel, the more chances of bad things happening, to delay your trip. It's amazing to me how many cars get hit by the train, and how often the engine breaks down, or something happens and the train shuts off in the middle of nowhere. I now Fly, due to all the discrepancies of going by Rail.*****
