Travelling on public transport - train bus etc?

Apart, from taking any seat that you can get! Do find yourself when you have the option choosing to sit on the right hand side or the left, for I have noticed that when I catch the bus in the morning, most people who get on when the bus is empty( at the start of the journey) tend to prefer to sit on the left hand side. How about you, if you have a choice! do you prefer a certain side of the bus train etc to sit on?

I sit on the left downstairs and on the right upstairs on buses.
There is more 'interest' on the left but upstairs I feel there is less chance of getting my head knocked of by a tree branch even though they use the same route everyday.

If I'm lucky enough to get a seat. I sit on the side that's not going to be in the sun so I can read my book. My journey is one straight 10 mile road !

I choose the seat on the top deck at the front, or if that is occupied, the seat immediately behind the staircase.

On the lower deck the best seat for me is the one nearest the emergency door. No, I'm not scared the bus is going to crash. I've got long legs and this seat gives me the best legroom.

In trains the best seat is the one at the end of the saloon opposite the wheelchair bay. Again, this has more legroom than the other seats.

I think I'd automatically go for a seat on the right, but no idea why.

When I have a choice I sit at the front because I'm a train driver !
