Hey, I am an italian guy, and in July I'm moving to Brussels due to my father's job. As Brussels is in a quite central position in Europe, I'd like to travel by train through France, England and Netherlands. What would you recommend me to do with the tickets issue? I mean... is there any kind of promotion.. offer.. (i.e. for students) that fits me the best? I am 17 yo, and I really would like to go to London and to Paris, but actually I don't know neither the names of the train companies operating in these countries.. May you give me a hint, please? Thank you, Angelo

There are good travel packages that are available through the Train system ask them about it and use the European Hostels to stay in at night its like dorms to stay for the night plus the cost is low if fund-age is no-problem then I would use B&B(Bed and Breakfast) most Breakfast is a lite continental type.Good Luck by the way age is not a issue in Europe as it is in the States. |

If you plan to travel in one short period, InterRail.
It is a pass which allows you to travel the trains of the countries unlimited, within the period it is valid. Although you may have to pay a surcharge or seat reservation fee for the fast trains. Only the train from Brussels/Paris to London is not included, but a ferry from Calais to Dover is not expensive and easy to do. If you plan on several short trips, you will be able to buy youth tickets, for those under 26. In sources I have placed the main site for InterRail (in English, but also available in Italian,) and for the Belgium rail planner, in English, which is also available in French, German and Dutch. It is a very good one for train times abroad too, and can find you prices via the 'buy ticket' option. A further good site for rail information, although firstly from England is the site of the man in seat sixty-one. And if the Belgium rail planner does not work, try the German one, I prefer it for use outside my own country, as it is very easy to use. Again several languages available. |
