Eurostar is the train that goes from London to Paris, Brussels and Lille.
Eurotunnel is the train that runs from Folkestone to Calais, this is the one you put your car on. New born babies can travel on either, suitably accompanied. Please note that strictly, child fare is usually for accompanied children 5-15. |

There is another train called Le Shuttle operated by Eurotunnel, which carries vehicles.
You drive on the train at Folkestone, then off again at Calais. From Calais you can easily reach Belgium by road. No age restriction though of course children must be accompanied by an adult. |

Eurostar is the passenger train that goes from London St. Pancras station to Paris, Brussels and Lille. It only carries people (and their luggage), not cars.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eurostar The train that carries vehicles, and which you can drive your car onto, is called "Eurotunnel Shuttle". It goes between Folkestone in England and Calais in France, and it was previously known as "Le Shuttle". Foot passengers (without vehicles) cannot use this train. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eurotunnel_Shuttle Both the Shuttle and the Eurostar trains go through the Channel Tunnel between England and France. You must be aged 12 or over to travel alone to France on the Eurostar, and if you're aged between 12 and 15 you must have a written letter of consent or signed consent form from your parent or guardian if you're travelling by yourself. Children aged 11 and under can't travel alone on the Eurostar and must be accompanied by a person aged 16 or over. They would almost certainly need a consent form too, signed by parent or guardian, if the person accompanying them is not the parent or guardian of the child. I don't know of any age limits for the Shuttle, but under UK law you'd have to be at least 17 to drive a vehicle on board anyway. |

The trains that you are thinking of are both called Eurostar. One runs from St Pancras station in London to Brussels, and the other runs from London to Paris.
The trains run through the Channel Tunnel. You must carry your passport. If you are under 18 you should check that you have your own personal one and that you not included on your parent's passport. This is an extract from the Eurostar conditions of travel: 3.5 Children up to and including the age of 11 years are not permitted to travel on a Eurostar train unless accompanied by a competent person of at least 16 years of age. Where the accompanying competent person is not the child’s parent or legal guardian, the child must have in his or her possession throughout the journey (and produce for inspection on request) the written consent of his or her parent or legal guardian to the journey. 3.6 Young persons aged between 12 and 15 inclusive may travel unaccompanied on a Eurostar train but must have in their possession throughout the journey (and produce for inspection on request) the written consent of their parent or legal guardian to the journey. 3.7 All children travelling on Eurostar must have a valid passport or other valid travel documents in their own name or be named on the passport or other valid travel documents of the adult accompanying them, and have all necessary visas or other immigration documents which the child needs for every country through which the child’s journey passes. This means that if you are under 12 years old then you can not travel on the Eurostar on your own. You may also have to pay the full adult fare. There is also a car shuttle that runs through the Channel Tunnel from Folkestone to Frethun. You have to have a vehicle for this because it does not carry foot passengers. |
