Default why do i always get headaches when travelling by coach, but not by train?

Probably because a train is a smoother ride so less bumps and your brain suffers less microtraumas.

train rides tend to be smoother and you know when its going to stop and start so your body knows what to expect and will put up with it

coaches will stop suddenly, move suddenly, and change speeds without you realising
