Someone said it wasn't safe for women to travel on the overnight train in another question, and I wanted to know what that meant? I'm going to Italy the end of this summer and was going to book some overnight rail tickets, but just wanted to check up on this first.
Thanks. I've already booked an overnight ferry from Genova to Sicily, so overnight ferries had better be okay. thankkkyoouu |

I travel on the night trains here a lot and have never had any problems or been aware of others who had problems. You can request an all female compartment if you're more comfortable with that. You can lock the door on your compartment during the night.

It's safe, I don't know WHO told you its not, but believe me, its a lie.
I live here and I've never heard of trouble for women to travel at night. its safer here than in the us. (i dont even know if you have trains there lol). so yeah.. dont worry, it'll be as safe as if you were home! the train controllers stay awake all night long and they control that no one enters your room. btw, you can also lock your door, so its impossible for strangers to enter. i hope it helped :) have a nice trip, italy is the most amazing country everrr xxxx |
