Providing you have a senior citizen bus pass issued by your local council you can use it to travel free on service buses throughout the whole of England - this includes all service buses in London - so if they have one the answer is yes they are entitled to free bus travel in London.
It does NOT entitle you to free travel on trains or Underground services in London. To obtain a pass which entitles a senior citizen to travel free on trains and underground in London you MUST be a resident in a London Borough. There is more information on bus passes here :- http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/TravelAndTransport/Publictransport/BusAndCoachTravel/DG_10036264 .. |

If you apply for a "Freedom Pass" and have a London address you can travel on buses, trains, tube but only after 9:30 am. The freedom pass works throughout the UK on buses and you can usually apply for one at your local Post Office.
You don't say where you are currently living so here is the link to the London Freedom Pass website. Your own local council will pay for it. http://www.freedompass.org/ |

If you have a bus pass issued by an English local authority (NOT British - passes issued in Scotland, Wales or Northern Ireland are not valid in England, or vice versa) then you can travel free on the London buses between 0930 and 2300 Monday to Friday, all day at weekends and public holidays. The pass does not apply on trains or underground.
Note that the "Freedom Pass" which is the equivalent pass issued to London residents is valid for travel on buses and undergound at all times, and London trains from 0930 to 0430. |
