I have travelled on a couple recently , great but very cold in winter and were very slow . Bo'ness to kinneal and one in Avimore nostalgia 1 practicality nil .

Yes I have been to York railways museum and saw them all stand there silently. I would love to go on one.

You know, they have one near here, and I've never been on it. I remember them from being a young kid. I'm going to go on that now because of this question.

No. They are noisy, dirty, smelly and uncomfortable. Modern trains are much better.

There are loads of steam train journeys operating throughout the UK.

They are fun to go on, but they will never return to the mainline, largely because of the huge expense and the massive carbon emissions.

yeah they still run up here in sunny scotland you can go on the jacbite(harry potter train)from forte williiam to mallaig or this web site has a couple down south that still run

Yes I would love to, I had a pub in the Cotswold's, and we had a steam railway behind us, which was a great tourist attraction, and very romantic going through the hills on the train, and a bit bumpy to be honest.

Yes absolutely!!!! 4 years ago i was fortunate enough to see The Flying Scotsman.I also live near Gothland where they film the station/train scenes in the Harry Potter movies.I love them & so does my nearly 3 year old who is a Thomas the Tank Engine devotee.
