Travelling from Ancona Italy down the coast by train to...?

The heel of Italy. Want an adventure but if anyone has any don't miss places on the way please could they spare a min. to let me know. Going in July this year on my own, for my 50th Birthday present to myself. I speak enough Italian to get by.

Will you stay just on the coast or will you be willing to travel a little bit in the inland. I would recommend you to travel in the inner Marche or Abruzzo, centre Italy is really beautiful.
Down South, stop in Gargano, the upper part of Puglia.
