Default Can a cat travel on a train?

We are going to get a cat later this year and would like to know if it can travel on a train?

I ask because we own a caravan and since we don't own a car at the moment it will have to get there by train. The trip is about 30 minutes to one station 1 and a half to another and a final 20 minutes to the last station.

Will this be ok? It will be on numerous occasions quite a few weekends and most holidays.
I am in the UK

it should be fine if you have a proper carrier... however you should probably look online for the train station's website, or for customer service, or ask someone at the station to make sure.

yup, should be fine. You just need a cat carrier as far as I know. you'd keep it with you I think. Dogs can go on too and you just have them with you, on their lead.

If the animal (in your case a cat) is contained in a proper carrier there shouldn't be any reason why not. I have had my bird, mice and dogs on a train (not all at once hehehe) I haven't suffered any problems. Best talk to the train operating company just to be sure as some companies may charge a nominal fare.

I think it would be ok if you are going to be with it the whole time if not i wouldn't think a cat would be ok on its own on a train.

yes of course.
its fine if you have a pet carrier
and you dont even need food in it, it can eat when it gets home.
so dont be worry about the food or traveling.
its perfectly fine for them
