Default Space travel for humans part 2?

Many of you believe that space travel would not be a big concern for most people, which is cool. But you would not mind living somewhere, knowing if you stepped out side, you would die? Or if something happen to the construction of the dome or whatever you lived in, then everyone would die? I think you might be answering these questions a little to quick, also because you know that it is never going to happen in your life time. But if you really were strapped in for the ride, and there was no turning back, i dont think you would be that cool, calm, and collective about it.

Well I think living in a dome I'd be ok, but if the dome ruptured I would probably freak out. I work in a office tower ever day and I'm fine, is the tower caught on fire and started to collapse I'd freak out. I drive on the highway just about everyday, if I'm driving down the highway and my two front tires blowout at 80mph I'm going to freak out, i think you would too.

It's the flight instinct when our minds realize or survival is in jeopardy then instinct takes over, not much thought just action, one might call this freaking out.

The claustrophobia would get to me eventually. I believe that space architecture must be expansive for the simple reason that humans need a certain distance above their heads and around their bodies for a little bit of the day to remain sane. This is almost as important keeping the colonist's faith in their colony's structural integrity.

Well, I guess there is a question in there somewhere...

It seems that you want to know if I would be worried, afraid, or concerned about a long space flight to somewhere far off. Hmm-m...

Let us both try an experiment.

Choose a large closet in your house. Empty it of everything that is inside the closet. Now move into the closet everything that you will need for one year. I do mean everything... All the food, all the water, all the tooth paste, all the toilet paper, all the trash bags, all the clothes, and all the TV's, radios, telephones, light bulbs, and record players, CD players with CDs that you will possibly use for one year.

Now step into the closet and close the door.

Do not come out for one year.

Tell me how you feel about that...

Well, that would be the sacrifice humans would have to live with in order to ensure the survival of the species.

Astronauts go on routine space-walks to do repairs to the shuttle and other things, knowing fully well that their space-suits could be ruptured by debris, which could ultimately lead to death, yet we continue to move forward on our missions.

Life has granted us many abilities to over-come the enormous amount of hazards that we will encounter on a daily basis, in order that following generations continue to emerge and survive, long after those prior have ceased to exist.

Enormous odds don't compare to survival instinct, it's built into every living thing. :)
