GIve people money and its nothing more then a gift. Takes away all incentive to do better.
Give people the tools to make money, and they can thrive. While it is always great to fight poverty, a race to the stars with the whole human race involved would create millions of jobs. Peace Jim . |

we could start by having compassion for our poor and helping them ourselves, then our tax money could work on space exploration,,,
but when a country is as selfish as ours we need a govt to force our elite to help take care of our poor as payment for the privilege to become wealthy on the backs of their fellow man |

well Just which tax are you talking about, The Income tax we pay both the state and fed?(most states anyway) The tax we pay when we buy a care and the property tax we pay on that as well. Or the tax we pay for gas. The tax we pay on anything we buy. Or is it the tax we pay to travel that pays for the Fed to run another Fed organization. Or maybe its the tax we pay for medicare that we still have to pay for after we paid for it. Or the tax we pay for social security when we will never see it as it does not even built like an IRA and ther is that tax too...income we already paid tax on...So what is the question? The poverty that we ..or I should say the Fed and State pay for is next to nothing...The space program is a bit different we do pay for that...but then Look at how much money or taxes go to to help others not in this country! And even worse(in my opinion) Is those damn ads on TV ...Oh for 6 dollars a day you can feed this child or whatever....what about or kids and Our poor schools...the only thing our taxes really do is let some moron politician that we could care less voters elected give them self a raise of 100k a year!
sorry for the ranting but you did ask...so the answer is yes...if it really went for those causes. |

I am unaware of anyone who wants to fight space travel. It would explain all those shuttle accidents and such though. It would be fun to see space travel fight a poor family of five in a no holds barred death match. I'd spend at least 5 dollars to see a small poor kid try to stab travel with an old fork. People underestimate the excitement that can be gained in pitting an idea against an impoverished boy. Reminds me of the classic fight of 1979 between a proposed Sprite bottle design and the 9 year old asian sensation Kwii So Ki.
