When radio waves reach a vacuum/ empty space, do they shoot out as some kind of particles/energy/electrons that then travel across space until they hit another medium and continue as a wave from there?
If not then how do they travel as a wave through space? |

electromagnetic waves dont need a medium to propagate through. the electric and magnetic components of the wave propagates itself through any type of medium.
when it encounters a medium, you still get usual wavelike behavior, such as reflection, refraction and diffraction. radio waves are electromagnetic waves. the usual everyday waves that we encounter that aren't electromagnetic in nature are sound waves, deep sea waves, and seismic activity. |
