I used space bags traveling from the US to Scotland. They worked great, and they came in particularly handy on the return flight. In the US, you are allowed one carry on bag and a personal item, such as a purse. In Edinburgh, we were restricted to one carry on bag only. I was able to fit my purse into my carry on with no problem. I didn't have to check a suitcase at all for a 5 day international trip, even when bringing home a few souvenirs.

Yes, but they are not my favorite. I tend to put one or two day's worth of clothes in a space bag, and then place it in my carry on. As for keeping clothes neat and orderly in my checked luggage, I like packing cubes better. The space bags are good for the way over, and not so much on the way back since people tend to not pack as orderly. Plus, they can actually take up more room if you put more than one or two things in them.
The nice is thing is TSA/customs likes them if they have to search your luggage. Also, they keep smelly clothes away from clean clothes. |
