Travel to outer space. Being able to explore the universe in its infinity would offer far more room for discovery than meeting an alien visitor. Plus, in traveling through space, I might even come across another civilization in the process. Definitely exploring space.

Ah an easy one.
I would rather meet an alien.

The conventional definition of "outer space" is any space that is a distance from the sun, greater then that of Mars. That would take a while to reach with our technology, and in my honest opinion, not worth it. I do want to actually get home at a reasonable time, and not cooked from radiation.

You can't just.. go explore outer space, lol.

An alien most definitely. The knowledge and wisdom they can empart would be incredible. Maybe that's just my weirdness shining through.

P.S. With the extremely large number of solar systems in our galaxy, and the extremely large number of galaxies in the universe, I think it is selfish to think that Earth is the only one to support life. (not saying E.T. type life, or Grey aliens like on X-files, just life in general)
