Do you think we need to get off this planet? Do you think that if we stay on this planet, we humans will become extinct just like Neanderthal man did? And why did thy become extinct, they were around for half a million years? Who done it? Do you think everybody that partakes of the Seniors section have all gone to bed, since there has been no new questions in several hours? Do you realize how boring it is to sit here looking at this computer at 1:03am ?

It's 4.15 pm in Australia. Still boring. I don't think anyone's figured out exactly how useful dark energy might be. Maybe Stephen Hawking (pbuh) will work it out. We've got about 2 billion years before the sun goes super nova, so I'd rate it about a 50/50 chance.

I don't know about dark energy getting us into space...but we have a new pleasant and active Asian driver for the village bus. Going to another planet (rather than picking up Mrs Godfrey from near the post box) wouldn't be much fun as the first to go will be all the friends and relatives of politicians and industrialists. So no chance we peasants owning land on the new world. The Neanderthals still live...a family down Hay Lane. Even their kids glare at you from under big brow ridges.
The folks in this village have been up a couple of hours, had breakfast, done the recycling and left the odd meat bone out for aforementioned family in Hay Lane. |

In the first place, we don't know for sure what the "Dark energy" really is, in space. An Ion engine is the best we have at this time.
We do have a god idea, or several, as to what happen to Neanderthal man, his demise. Most probably it was genetic and he just wasn't meant to compete with his new Cro-Magnon for continuing through time. It's been a long summer, hot, so far. I am up due to the pain I have. Osteo-arthritis in the severe degenerative stages an neurological damages in the same manner. |

Well it is 3:02 am here in Calif. and here I sit, cannot even go out on the patio, still to much smoke in the air, bored to death, lol, any way, space has amazing properties, many of which are just beginning to be understood, empty space can possess its own energy. So it is possible. I'll leave this planet and go into Gods dimension some day.

I am usually on YA at 1:00am but last night I played Sims instead. Been giving Chat a try again also...
So I am answering at noon the following day. Dark energy has to be proven to exist first and then .......... No one knows for sure why Neanderthal became extinct. There are several theories. Maybe there were several reasons. Their brains just did not evolve...leaving them unable to cope with climate change. There is evidence of interbreeding with modern humans but they were probably also killed off by modern mankind. Global warming is pushing us toward another ice age. This is obviously a natural occurrence whether accelerated by mankind or not. Mankind will not become extinct because of an ice age but will diminish greatly. A large asteroid hitting this planet would I assume destroy virtually all life on earth. It would have to evolve all over again...I guess. Otherwise the earth will be here until the Andromeda galaxy collides with it or until the Sun engulfes it. If humans live that long they may have gained the intelligence and means to leave this planet and inhabit another one....but it would have to be very very very very far away. I don't really know anything about this stuff other than what I read, watch and barely remember. |
