Default SPACE Available Travel?

We are stationed on MCBH Kaneohe Bay and flight costs are so high from here to anywhere else. We are trying to fly out to Texas to see family. How does Space A work and how do i find out if i am eligible?

Any active duty/military dependent is eligible for Space "A" travel. There are rules and regulations regarding this. Here is a website to get you started in the right direction, http://www.amc.af.mil/questions/topic.asp?id=380

Members must be on "leave" status, or EML status.

It is not a really reliable means of travel, i've wasted countless days of "leave" waiting for an available seat.
