Is it almost like we are leaving a fossile of the human race into space? will our radio waves be around a lot longer than the human race will? If there is life in the univers could they be able to find traces of us in space long after we are all gone just by using radio telescopes?
Sorry if i seemed worried, i am not worried i am just interested. Why would i be worried if some race knew we were here millions of years from now John f that was very funny and made me think even more about what an alien race would think of us, i bet they would be very confused for a long time at what the hec we were |

Yes. I heard someone on NPR radio last week saying that I Love Lucy episodes are just leaving our solar system. They are so weak and below the floor noise level of space, the results of the Big Bang, that's it's very unlikely they'll be picked up by anyone, assuming there's anyone to try and pick them up. They get weaker with distance obviously. "Lucy....I'm in space!!!"

yes that's why we have SETI (search for extra teristrial intelligence) it doesn't just scan for simliar waves, it sends out a message of our own, and yes, if some(one/thing) is close enough, they will some day hear it... but since they would be so far away, by the time they heard them for the first time, we could very likely of been long extinct.... another cosmic enigma.
