Russian citizens traveling to argentina?

We're having a foreign exchange thing at my school with argentinians. I wanted to go to argentina, but my parents said that I can't because of the fact that Russian citizens dont have diplomatic relations with argentina?
I have a greencard. I got it last year. however, i have a russian passport, and not an american one.

i tried to do research to see this is true, but all i came up is that russia must have some sort of diplomacy with argentina because they have an embassy in buenos aires.

can anyone else me out by telling me if any of what my parents saying are true?

Argentina has a huge tourist industry from Europe and North America and you'll have a very good time there. Just observe the normal precautions one takes in the streets of any major city in the world.
