How many days have you got? It's a hell of a journey. It can take anywhere from a couple of days,if all goes well,to five or more if you get problems with avalanches,rockfalls,floods,over-heating engines, bandits, false borders(highway robbery scam),the list goes on and on. It's hardly the safest way to do it,especially if you're on your own. Take as much survival stuff and food and drink as you can,and be prepared to work should the worst happen. The first bit is the worst, through Equador and the north of Peru. There are some good roads, and the scenery is fab,but it's a risky journey. It's OK when you get further south in Peru, pretty easy run from there, and safe. Terrific roads, even through the desert areas. You can get a shared taxi(collectivo) from Tacna(outside the main coach station) in the far south of Peru to Arica in the north of Chile. It's cheap and safe, and the driver will stand in queue with the passports for all the passengers so you get an easy time with the border. It's the easiest way to cross. The coach from there to Santiago takes around 21 hours. Great ride, but the bus is certainly not the best option all the way from Quito. You would be much better off flying, and it would probably be cheaper too, overall. You'll miss the fabulous scenery from the ground, but it's great from the air, too, and you'll have a much better chance of actually meeting your friend in Santiago. If you still want to use the bus,get a buddy. Team up with somebody before you board, and look out for each other. In Santiago,it's best to keep well away from the yellow (town) buses. Dangerous! Everything else is fine. Great place! You could see my answer on Santiago for that and other Santiago info.("Have you ever been to Chile?" 14th or thereabouts down the list) . The link below has flight info for Quito-Santiago. Best of luck.

Men's and women's athletic shoes and special function shoes often have less difference between the sexes than in dress shoes. In many cases these shoes can be worn by either sex. Emphasis tends to be more on function than style.Sneakers/trainers (also called gym shoes or tennis shoes): general purpose athletic shoes; made out of rubber, cloth, and/or plastic to be lightweight, flexible, and have good traction. Special varieties are available for basketball or tennis. Running shoes: very similar to above, with additional emphasis on cushioning. Track shoes: lightweight; often with plastic or metal cleats Cleat (shoe): a type of shoe featuring molded or removable studs. Usually worn while playing sports such as rugby, football, American football, or baseball. Golf shoes: with "spikes" for better grip in grass and wet ground. Originally the spikes or "cleats" were made of metal but replaceable "soft spikes" made of synthetic plastic-like materials with prongs distributed radially around the edge of each spike are much more common today (and are required on many golf courses since they cause less damage to the greens). http://www.ozshoes.com.au/Bowling shoes: intermediate style between ordinary dress shoes and athletic shoes. They have harder rubber soles/heels so as not to damage bowling alley floors. They are often rented or loaned at bowling alleys. Nike air max 90Climbing shoes: a shoe designed for rock climbing. They typically have a close fit, little if any padding, and a smooth sticky rubber sole with an extended rubber rand. Hiking shoes or boots: usually have a high somewhat stiff upper with many lace eyelets, to provide ankle support on uneven terrain, with extra large traction on the sole. Walking shoes: have a more flexible sole than the Nike Air Max TN running shoe, lighter in weight than the hiking boot, may have air holes, may not be water proof.Nike Air force 1 Skating shoes: typically called skates. They have various attachments for skating on the bottom of the Nike dunk sb shoe portion.

The Nike SHOX R4 running shoe has been the most successful shoe in theNike SHOX R4 lineup. The shoe was available in a variety of colors and was also available on Nike ID. The R4 has been released several times and is the only shoe in the original lineup to have been released several times. In the fall of 2000, the Nike SHOX R4system was revealed to the world. Nike unveiled this top secret line of shoes to the world in 3 models, the Nike Shox R4,Nike SHOX R4 Nike SHOX R4[/url] XTR.The Shox shoes were very cutting edge using a super high density polyurithane hollow foam columns as the shock absorbers in combination with a TPU heel counter to ensure equal distribution of the energy from impact. The first Nike SHOX R4prototype is inspired by an exceptionally springy indoor running track at Harvard. The prototype looked more like a medieval torture device called The Boot (this device was used during the Spanish Inquisition to extract information and confessions) and performed much the same way. This first Nike SHOX R4 prototype was used to find the optimal spring rate, but it’s clumsy and heavy metal frame did nothing to improve performance. The next generation of Shox prototype attempted to solve the problem of durability and stability by replacing the closed leaf spring with a hinged carbon fiber shell, creating a something that looked like a running shoe on a diving board. New, high tech, high durability materials make the leaf spring obsolete and bring about the current form for Nike SHOX R4: four cushioning columns between two resilient plates. The results is an effective cushioning system with a high energy return. The Nike SHOX R4 shoes were the product of a sixteen years of research in the Nike Labs. In the fall of 2000, How did the system work? It was actually very simple - the Shox would absorbs energy from impact (kinetic energy) of the wearer’s heel and then returns the stored energy as he moves forward.
