What shots are required before travelling to Brazil?

A friend and I are planning to goto brazil for the summer, what special (medical) shots do we need before hand?

it depends on where in Brazil you are going. If you're going to the Amazon reagion, there are shots that are RECOMMENDED, but for places like Rio de Janeiro or Sao Paulo there are no recommendations regarding shots. I'd go to the Brazilian Consulate website and see the specific recommendations on shots. Another tip: if you do end up having a shot prior to your trip, go to your local public health facility...it's cheapter there.

If you are going to the major cities there are no shot required. Id traveling into the Jungle you may require shots, but even that is probably not 100% needed.
