Cheapest travel between Brazil and Japan???

Does anyone know of a travel service or agent specializing in flight paths between Brazil and Japan? From Sao Paulo, Brazil (GRU) to Narita, Japan (NRT). Can anyone offer some advice on the cheapest way to fly? Should I go over the Atlantic through Europe? Or cross the Pacific?

American airline via NYC would be cheapest according to Japanese web travel agency.

Never go across Europe. It would cost twice or much.

Well Japan Airlines was pretty cheap, but I only took it till NYC, as it was making a stop there. It should be around US$1,600
