The top bit is warmer than the bottom bit, the deeper you go the colder it gets. It is however classed as a tropical sea if that helps.

According to Wikipedia, the southern Pacific waters can average double the 15 degrees of the Atlantic ..! The Indian Ocean being the warmest at an average of 39 degrees
