Fish egg sac from Puget Sound (Pacific Ocean)?
Hi all...
I was wondering if anyone knew what type of fish egg this was? It was part of a sac, consisting of maybe 40 "packets," so to say, of eggs, all of which were attached to a main thing. The egg containers themselves look like small fish, are oval-ish, and are seethrough, revealing little eggs inside. They float. They were found beached in the sand in puget bay. All help is appreciated. I found a list of fish from puget sound, at
artedi.fish.washington.edu/FishKey/
so it must be an egg of one of those fish (I think), but I have no background in fish at all, so I have no clue what it is. One of the eggs was ripped off by a rock when I put it back in the water, so I filled up a container with sea water and some seaweed and rocks, and put it in there.
Any suggestions? Any ideas? Help please!
