does the pacific ocean have a similar weather system to the atlantic?

my reason for asking is when crossing the atlantic westbound planes always take longer than going eastbound due to eastbound headwinds i was wondering does the pacific have a similar system but with northbound winds my reason for asking is i have noticed that flights to new zealand take 13 hours from america but only 11 coming back

Since the Pacific is larger than the Atlantic, no, the weather patterns are much different. The Atlantic tends to be a bit more violent than that of the Pacific. Water temperatures in the Atlantic are 5-10 degree warmer and tend to lead to more hurricanes than the Pacific.

The short answer is yes. Specifically addressed to your real question, which is in regards to the general weather pattern: winds moving west to east in the northern hemisphere.

Generally speaking winds will travel west to east in the north, and the opposite in the south.

Someone mentioned weather is worse in the Atlantic, they're nuts. Weather can be bad in both. I doubt highly one would find much real difference.

I have traveled extensively, including much time at sea. I don't know the reason anyone thinks there is any significant difference.

From first hand experience it seems to me it's about the same.

From watching hurricanes/typhoons every year, it seems about the same.

From doing some research on historical storms, it seems about the same.

Maybe it's just me, I dunno.
