there are, they are just called typhoons and usually they don't hit CA...

In the Pacific, they're called Typhoons. It would be nice if one took out the "land of fruits and nuts"!!!

wind currents make it impossible.

they do get them on the other side of the pacific, they are called typhoons.

Ocean tides and warm/cold air currnt relationships don't blow that way to cause hurricanes.

because the water is much much colder in the pacific, and hurricanes require at least 81 degree water! there ya go!
