Skin raw, calloused, in sensitive areas after swimming in the Pacific Ocean at Huntington Beach, CA... Why?

I went for a weekend bash at our local beach, Huntington Beach, CA and swam in the Pacific ocean on a very hot day. What I'm worried about is that now (hold your laughter) the skin at the tips of my nipples and even the line bisecting the scrotum (the raphe) is raw, sensitive, and has formed a dark scab-like layer. After I took a shower, it BURNED! But was hardly sensitive after 24 hours. 4 days later the scabs are falling off and everything looks great, but I'm still worried of the events. Am I alergic to something in the water, or is this a "normal" occurance? What exactly is happening? Thank you.

I get the same thing too! I'm thinking it's a combination of sun-burned skin as well as the salty water on it for long periods of time. I remember coming home, showering and my nipples stinging. I don't know about your genitals, THAT you should get checked out. Heh

probably from the salt water,,,try putting baby oil on it
