If you could, would you buy an island in the Pacific Ocean and leave all of the turmoil in America behind?

On your private island you could escape Imus and his detractors, the Duke controversy, and all the rest of it by strolling on your private beach and admirng sunrises and sunsets, and contemplating the beauty and mystery of life. Why, you ask, can't that be done right here in America? Personally, I find it impossible anymore to shut out all of the ugliness, discord, and meaness coming from ALL segments of American society. Maybe that's the reason.
Rita S, it's true that I need another planet, instead of an island, but - unfortunately - our Space Brothers haven't offered me a ride. I'll just have to make do with an island, and hope for the best.

you bet i would! if i were independently wealthy, i'd buy my own private island and would build a resort for my friends, family and i to just hang out. what was going on in the world wouldn't matter too much. we would relax, have fun and enjoy life!
