How would you recommend we do that since the Pacific is expanding and the Atlantic is shrinking over long periods of time? Even if we had enough 'dirt' to do that it would collapse. Not that we have enough 'dirt' to do that, to fill in all the way to the bottom of the ocean.

I did it one time. But hurricane matrina came, and my leveys broke, and it went under. Then I had to move all of my citizens to my stadium for a while, and then the air went out, so I had to ship them to other countries. My football team made it to the playoffs the next year though after we signed a superstar running back.

the problem is that you will need more underneath
to sustain it - and where will the dirt come from - except
other continents

cool idea - sorry to rain on your parade

Might be kinda hard.
The world is already 75% ocean and the water levels are rising......we are losing the land we already have....sad but true.

Why not just send all liberals to Mars or the Moon
with a one -way free ticket? That would solve a lot
of the problems we here in the U.S. are having. They
could all enjoy each others company, but they wouldn't
have anyone to blame for any problems. Oh well.

no that would mess up the entire ecosystem and could possibly cause mass extinction.

the only way to get more dirt to build this continent would be from under water. Not to mention that those are continental plates under there, whichmeans if we dig too deep we hit magma and die. We also haven't been able to get down that far yet.

I don't know if you've heard of the Panama Canal? If so, maybe you know how much it cost and how long it took to build.

If this were humanly possible, we would take the dirt from under water, which would cause sea level to decrease. This in turn would cause the water to heat up. any sensitive ocean fish (most of them) would die from the temperature change, the ice caps would melt, and massive tropical storms would form. Plus, once you've got all these dead fish belly up in the ocean with nothing to decompose them, this bacteria (which lives at the bottom of the sea and is lethal to humans) will have to finish the job so that it can survive in the water. It thrives in warmer temperatures so the temperature rise will make the bacteria multiply rapidly. Never mind New Orleans, say good bye to the entire continent of North America.
