Some enchanted evening...

South Pacific hands down.
In Oklahoma they just do way too much hopping and jumping around.

Oklahoma is very good, but it's no South Pacific.

I like them both as an art...
but neither for message sent to the public (just a little old fashioned for the modern age...but classics are important...they show us where we come from and can point us in the direction of where we should be going)

South Pacific is better. Much less annoying than Oklahoma. At the same time Oklahoma is a musical EVERYONE and their mother knows.

O-K-L-A-H-O-M-A! Hands down!!! I love it. I don't care as much for the whole situation with Jed the farmhand, but --hello!!!-- the rest totally made up for it. Curly is so charismatic and heart throb worthy!!! Lauren is a dynamic character with opposing wants, playing hard-to-get! Is is not high school yet? Choreography is so open and fun. There is a lot of great room for interesting choreography in the dance scene as well as the train station. The grandmother is such a solid character and takes a good character actress. The ditzy girl crushing on Curly is fabulous for someone new to theater who wants to really showcase their talent memorably and comically. Last of all my favorite character, the girl who just cain't say no tops them all. She is open to be a character of all sizes and types and still get a solo.
If this is someone planning to do the play, go for it! You won't regret it.
